Some punctuation marks are ignored during query searches, such as a space character, plug sign(+). For example, inputting 'I+English', means that the '+' will be filtered and ignored. The query result is same as 'I English'.

Bing Dictionary uses the abbreviation of part of speech in standard dictionaries. Below is the list:

You can click the inflection word to find sample sentences that contain it. You can also filter the sample sentences by category: oral, formal, title or technology; by source: dictionary or web; or by readability: high, middle or low.

Most of Bing Dictionary's sample sentences are crawled from the internet by web mining. Some web sites may close after having been crawled; some may be updated by authors. Since the updating of sample sentences can lag after the changes on internet, some links may be not reachable or no longer contain the sample sentence.

Some of Bing Dictionary’s sample sentences are collected from Bilingual Parallel Web pages. Bilingual Parallel Web pages are a pair of page, one being in Chinese, the other is a translated version in English. Sample sentences coming from Parallel Web pages have 2 links, but only one link (usually the English one) is displayed. However, you can access the Chinese web page by making a small change in the English link's URL. For example:
